Red Dress Competition

Ello People!

A great thing about being a junior at my school is that I get to participate in the American Red Heart Association Red dress show. Everyone in my grade is to make a red dress to show support for a healthy heart. I was inspired by my trip to Japan and made my dress with an asian fusion to it. It took lots of blood sweat and tears but it is finally completed and I would say it looks pretty good if i do say so myself. Wish me luck!!

Natural Geometry

Hiya!

So the last month ish I have been designing for target..yes THE target. For my Fashion Design class we were suppose to define a "white space" in their store and design a collection around it. The best collection, illustrations and designs would win the competition. I did not win but I think I improved my design and presentation skills so thats still good..haha :p My "white space" was maternity wear. Their maternity section needed some improvements so why not start there. I wanted to design something fun, colorful and lots of target customer friendly patterns. So here is my collection!

Sneak Peek

Herrow Everyone!

Sorry I havn't posted in so long but between midterms..the start of school and that sort of craziness I have been so busy!! Because I havent posted I probably wouldnt post this but to make up for the time lost this is a special big preview of one of the biggest things/projects I am going to be doing this year!! So in Junior year we all compete for the Red Dress Competition by The American Heart Association. Our goal is to make an elegant red dress that we could wear for a gala! I can't give you guys anymore details but here is the basic drape of the dress :D

FIRST collection!!

Hola!

So its the begining of a new school year which means new art projects to show but I completely forgot about the best project I did last year..my collection!! In my pattern making class we had to make out first collection EVER from scratch..that means I designed it all, made all the patterns, picked out fabric and sewed everything myself. It took a while and lots of hard work but I finished it in time and got a good grade!! So first of all we had to make childrens clothes which in a way is easier but also harder..everything is smaller but that also means less sewing. I am not girly and I feel like not all little girls are girly so I wanted to make 2 outfits that were rock and roll inspired. I made a boys outfit and a girls. The boys is a shirt and jean capris, the girls is a dress and a shirt. As you can tell I put lots and lots of zippers on each garment. Each zipper opens to show the color of the zipper underneath. I thought this was a fun rock and roll inspiration for kids who want something playful yet a little edgy. Sorry this blog post is so long but this is definitely the thing I am proud of the most so far!! Also because my teacher did not think I would make the deadline in time and my clothes wouldnt come out exactly right but I worked hard and happily she agreed that I proved her wrong!! So hope you like them!! :D

Selfie?

Ello :D

So when I had my figure drawing class back in freshmen year I actually learned how to draw people and actual faces! So this is my first portrait I have ever done! It is actually based on a picture on facebook. I wanted to start with a basic picture to get my face structure and lighting. For someone who has never been the best drawer..i thought this was pretty good! Hope you like it :D

Textile major?

Well hey there!

So even though school is out for the summer heres a project we had to do for our CAD class. We had to design patterns that we would put on actual clothes. I wanted to do some artsy ones but also some fun patterns! So hope u like them!! :D
